"Applying the science of learning & behavior across different scopes, services, and species."
Yoder’s Applied Practice is not traditional training but instead utilizes the science of applied behaviorism to establish conditions to capture what the learner offers and build upon this, or help shape behaviors through approximate steps that are individualized to the comfort and capability of the learner. It is a force free approach, using positive methods to allow control and choice making opportunities resulting in an increase or decrease of targeted behaviors. It is the science of learning and behavior with positive reinforcement as the tool for behavior change and the ultimate goal is an improvement in the quality of life for the learner and their family/support system.
